Cupertino, Calif. -- September 6, 2006 -- MySQL AB, developer of the world’s most popular open source database, today announced the election of a new independent member to its board of directors: Dana Evan, CFO and executive vice president of Finance and Administration for VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN).

As VeriSign’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and executive vice president of Finance and Administration, Ms. Evan is responsible for managing all worldwide company operations related to finance and accounting, human resources, legal matters and investor relations.

Over the past decade, she has been a key member of VeriSign’s executive management team, helping to set business strategy and grow the company from a small, venture-backed start-up to a global corporation relied upon to provide intelligent infrastructure services for millions of users, including nearly all of the Fortune 500, government bodies, hundreds of thousands of small businesses, and over one thousand telecommunications carriers and service providers.

Ms. Evan has over 20 years of experience specializing in finance and accounting for high technology companies, including Portal Software, Identix, Inc., and Delphi Ventures. Previously, she was a senior manager at KPMG Peat Marwick, where she had a wide range of responsibilities including business planning and consulting, managing client audits and financial reporting services, litigation support, and client account management. Ms. Evan holds a B.A. degree in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting and Finance from the University of Santa Clara. Besides MySQL AB, Ms. Evan also sits on the board of directors for Omniture, Inc.
